from the manual: MOTOR OVERTEMP The motor temperature is too high (Excessive load)

1. Motor voltage rating incorrect

2. FIXED BOOST and/or AUTO BOOST set too high

3. Prolonged operation of the motor at low speed without forced cooling

4. Check setting of INVERT THERMIST parameter in I/O TRIPS menu at level 3.

5. Break in motor thermistor connection

There's a few suggestions on the manual, you'll need to identify the source of the excess temperature, resolve the issue, and press "E" to clear the overtemp alarm.

Motor overtemp is usually referring to a temp sensor that is incorporated into the motor itself.

Some examples of motor overtemp protection are:

  • Temperature Switches
  • Thermocouples
  • RTD's Resistance Temperature Detectors
  • Thermistors
