Gentleman,
Looking for some advice that relates to my earlier post. Is there a documented procedure on how to adjust a field weakening contactor?

Also is it normal to have to adjust field weakening contactors?

Thanks!

Cheller

The field weakening contactor must be set in accordance with your existing motor's field current. First take not of your field current from the motor nameplate, then adjust the set screw, dial, or knob to the appropriate range.

OK, just one more question, how low can the field current go before the field weakening before the contactor should open the circuit? If I've got a 7.75A field current on the nameplate, where should i set the adjustment on the contactor?

The field weakening adjustment on this contactor is by done with a set screw. The clouds are lifting now!
